Centered around an epic scale model of the solar system designed by the artist Oliver Jeffers with scientist Professor Stephen Smartt and a creative team led by Nerve Centre, Our Place in Space is a three-dimensional sculpture trail, interactive AR app and exciting learning and events programme.
Explore the 18th century Grand Orrery built by George Adams, William Herschel’s Newtonian telescope and a stunning collection of globes and planetaria!
The museum’s collections are particularly strong in objects dating from the 17th to the 19th centuries, especially objects produced by English instrument makers. From instruments of astronomy, navigation, and surveying, to drawing and calculating…Come on down and explore with Our Place in Space.
