  • 18th September 2022 - 18th September 2022
  • 9:30 am - 12:00 pm

Chariots of Fire, which is organised by HCR Hewitsons Charitable Trust, recreates the running contest that took place in the Great Court at Trinity College, Cambridge, as made famous by the film ‘Chariots of Fire’. Teams of six runners, from local businesses, the voluntary and college community each run the 1.5 mile course in a relay format. The unique and picturesque route starts and finishes at Queens’ Green and covers the city centre, King’s College and crosses the river Cam.

Each year a different charity is chosen to receive the money from the event and since 1992 over £1,500,000 has been raised for a wide variety of worthy causes. This year Arthur Rank Hospice Charity (ARHC) have been selected as the official charity to benefit from the sponsorship funds, who are seeking to expand their retail business so that their hospice can continue to provide free end-of-life care to the community.
