The Art of Letterpress with Donna Thompson

Make a fabric, handprinted Letterpress banner with Donna Thompson aka Deedeecreate. Create a unique keepsake to celebrate the words, pattern and love for a home found in David Parr House.

  • 10:30 am - 2:00 pm

In this workshop, you will:

  • Be inspired by the text and quotes you discover in the David Parr House.
  • Respond and print a fabric banner to reflect the ‘voice’ of the house.
  • Use wooden Letterpress type and print-making techniques to handprint
    your design.
  • Discover the beauty of pattern in David Parr House and create mini fabric pattern samples as you experiment with Letterpress type, as a tool for abstract design.
  • Enjoy refreshments, tea, coffee and biscuits.
  • Go home with your sampler and skills to continue your making at home.
  • This workshop includes an explorative walkthrough of David Parr House.

Please wear old clothes as you will be working with textile ink. Aprons will be provided.
