Summer at the Beach is an annual Arts Festival run by a collaborative group of more than 20 artists living and working around Waterbeach, near Cambridge, UK.

The festival is staged over the first three weekends in September, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each Saturday and Sunday.  All the events are held in the evocative, Cold War architecture of the ‘Terrace Units’, part of the now decommissioned Barracks site.

We are committed to inclusivity, promoting creativity for wellbeing and working towards ecological sustainability.  This unique opportunity to meet and engage with the artists must not be missed.

Summer at the Beach is a fantastic opportunity for Waterbeach’s artistic community to come together, celebrate and share the place that so inspires them. This year’s art exhibition will include ceramicists, milliners, textile artists, painters, photographers, filmmakers, sculptors, installation artists and printmakers. There will also be live music, dance, poetry and free workshops for children.

It’s free and fully accessible, (including free parking for bikes and cars).  It is approximately one mile from Waterbeach Train Station – an easy stroll or cycle ride.  There is also a Pop-Up Cafe serving delicious cakes and refreshments, so why not come along and see what it’s all about?

With thanks to Richard Youell for many of the photographs
